Jobs @ Social Media - Reality or Trap

If you love social media, the good news is that there are plenty of jobs out there. There are even six-figure positions available for those who are more experienced and can grow their business and leadership skills. 
Imagine a world where you don’t have to cover your screen when your boss walks by so she doesn’t see you checking Facebook for the millionth time. Or a work environment where it’s considered mandatory to be glued to your phone, snapping away and scrolling through Instagram with a vengeance.Well, this world exists, and you could be part of it, getting paid to help companies successfully market their products and services on social media.

Today, it is serious business – a platform which all sane organisations are getting to in order to attract and retain customers. In this context, businesses have realized that social media is essential to any organisation’s marketing and customer success strategy, many are still struggling to find people who can truly make social media work to their advantage concerning engagement and revenue.

Jobs @ Social Media with their roles :-
01)      Graphic designer
            Graphic designers make creative images using computer software such as Photoshop. They develop illustrations, designs and motion graphics like GIFs and Cinemagraphs. Graphic designers know how to create engaging, informative social media content.
02)      Film and video editor
            Video performs very well on social media platforms like Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram and YouTube. You would create short content that lives exclusively on social media.
03)      Marketing manager
Marketing managers used to run advertisement campaigns in magazines, newspapers, billboards and television commercials. Now companies are spending large amounts of their marketing budgets on social media and website ads.

04)      Customer service representative

People are likely to take to Twitter, Facebook and even Instagram when they have a question or complaint. Customer service representatives spend time answering social media messages and comments to resolve issues and increase customer satisfaction.
05)      Art director
 Art directors are responsible for the aesthetic imagery you see in online and offline advertisements, including social media content. You’ll stage the photo and video shoots for campaigns on Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat.

06)      Account manager

Your job will be to work with in-house department heads within an organization; or, at an agency, you’ll be the person responsible for being the primary contact for the client, social media team, creative team and other team members to create marketing strategies.

07)      Copywriter

 You’ll be in charge of writing engaging copy for social media posts. Get used to promoting a brand in 140 characters or less!  it’s helpful to have well in English, marketing or communications.

08)      Public relations specialist
 Public relations specialists are responsible for helping brands and people present a positive public image. You’ll help to monitor brand perception on social media and share press releases and press hits on social media.

09)      Market research analyst
 Market research analysts study market conditions to evaluate the market for a product or service. You’ll evaluate the social media landscape to see what people want, who the current and potential buyers are, and how to price the product.

10)      Promotions manager
 People often say that social media is “pay to play”—meaning a brand must spend money in order to get more people see its content. You’ll create paid media strategies, as well as purchasing incentives like sales, sweepstakes, contests, special gifts and coupons.

11)      Content creators

Content can come in many formats, with blogs, images and videos being the most basic types but these days there are more options to choose from and plenty of new ways to engage with audience. Temporary content like Instagram stories is an example of a simple way to connect instantly and authentically and even add some creative elements in such a way that shows your personality.
         
12)      Influencers

Influencers are people who partner with a brand to be a sort of informal spokesperson. The Influencer you choose for your brand must represent both the brand and target demographic in an authentic way. You should understand the person’s reach and message, as well as the type of engagement they have with their audience. There are many different kinds of social media influencers – from bloggers  and youTubers to celebrities and Instagrammers. In a nutshell, social media influencers work with brands to help them gain more publicity. As someone whom their followers trust and admire, they have the credibility and reach to promote brands they are passionate about –in a convincing way.
                     
13)      Social media manager

A social media manager leads the group and takes charge to keep an eye on what the strategy is and how to implement it. If you work for a small business, it is very easy to execute the plan but if you work for a big multinational company then several people work under you and you should know how to monitor and manage them efficiently.
            
Conclusion :-

In view of the above, I am trying my best to collect the information about the jobs description for social media and their scopes, but is it really works or just a trap where every one only jumped into the field for future carrier option without any guidance and after spending lots of time , he/she get back to their traditional working system.
